He is one of the Salsa pioneers and co-director of the first dance company in Los Angeles. Together they have traveled to more than 41 countries. They continue to play an inspirational role in the salsa community world wide, sharing their passion for Latin Dance, teaching people how to dance one step at a time… Luis and Melissa are looking forward to come back to Ulm.

Melissa Rosado, New York – confirmed New York Style / Ladies Styling Melissa Rosado is one of the top international instructors and performers of NY Style Mambo “On 2.” She is an energetic and explosive dancer who is known all around the world for her unique, sexy styling and body movement on and off the dance floor, powerful stage presence, and passionate love for teaching. In addition, her humble attitude and welcoming personality is what makes her popular amongst the mambo community today. She has an ability to effortlessly follow any lead and is known to be one of the best examples and instructors of the Eddie Torres technique. The Bronx born native Melissa has trained in a variety of dance styles consisting of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip-hop, African, Afro-Cuban, and Flamenco since the tender age of 5. It was not until the age of 9 that she discovered her passion for mambo when she began taking classes with Eddie and Maria Torres at the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx. Melissa’s extraordinary talent and genuine love for mambo is evident through her captivating stage presence, sensual style and sincere manner with people. It is for this reason that she is considered to be one of the most prestigious and sophisticated dancer of her generation.
Stacey Lopez, Puerto Rico – confirmed Cha – Cha / Puerto Rican Style One of our very special highlights is the renowned Instructor Stacey Lopez from Puerto Rico. It’s a great pleasure for us to welcome this charismatic dancer at the Salsa Festival in Ulm who has got many years of experience in teaching after an extended break in teaching in Europe. Stacey is famous for his Cha-Cha-Cha workshops and has trained and inspired many international dance instructors. Ones you have participated in one of his workshops you will become a fan of this entertainer.
Orville Small & Sabrina Buis, Canada/Netherlands- bestätigt / confirmed Los Angeles Style Orville Small and his partner Sabrina Buis have been making waves on both sides of the Atlantic for their explosive, original dance style. Now living in Holland, they run a teaching business ‘Salsation’ and a performance company ‘Draken Woede’, and have toured the world teaching and performing. Their credits are impressive to say the least and include: San Francisco International Salsa Dance Champion, Three time Annual Ottawa Salsa Champion, Club Med International Salsa Champion, annual Berlin Salsa Champion & 8th Annual Mayan World Salsa International Champion.
Drakenwoede Dance Company, Netherlands – confirmed Draken Woede is the performance section of Orville’s company. And still we mean jokes brada. Three cardinal signs when we perform: it has to be fast, clean and energetic… I always get people coming up to me talking about ‘why dont you guys do a nice mambo or something’ or ‘why do you always use so much power in your shows’…. stop stop…. the shows that we bang out are strictly to get you going buck.. that is what we get a kickout of when we perform, the challenge of keeping it together and pushing the envelope. Maybe we will hit the other side of things when we have had enough but this is where we are at right now. And before someone comes around talking about how we are dissing other methods, let me say this: We love all styles but simply have our own preferance on how we hold down the fort. Farid – Salsa Conga & Julie -France – bestätigt / confirmed Los Angeles Style Farid “The Conguerro” was born in Tuolon. Of Moroccan decent, he was immersed in a world full of musical instruments since early childhood. Influenced and inspired by his father, he sang and played guitar as a child. He was to discover ‘Salsa’ in year 2000 at a discotheque and was quick to learn the basics of the dance style. Then he went on to discover ‘Mambo’ at a Salsa congress in 2002 and since then became addicted not only to this dance but also to the jazzy but Latin music which comes with it. He went on to learn the dance from some of the biggest names in the ’scene’ and progressed rapidly thanks to his inherent musical talent, to his limitless supply of energy and to his endless zest for life. He is now a beloved instructor not only for his teaching prowess but also for his unique and humourous style. He is also the founder-director of ‘Salsa Conga’ dance school and the choreographer of ‘Latin Lovers’ dance group and of ‘Salsa Conga’ dance company. He has instructed and performed at countless Salsa congresses around the world. This year, he is back with his glamourous dance partner Julie.
Osbanis Tejeda & Anneta, Cuba/UK – confirmed Cuban Style Osbanis Tejeda 2004 World Rueda Champion, 2003 UK Cuban Salsa Champion, dance teacher, choreographer and performer, graduated professor of Cuban percussion. Developed his dancing when arrived in Europe, he decided to fill in the lack of the live Cuban culture in UK by not only playing the music but also playing with the music, what became a start of this professional dance career. The most important thing for him is to feel everything you see in music and dance. Anneta Kepka 2008 IDO World Ladies Salsa Shines Champion and 2006 UK Salsa Champion, began her dancing career in Poland with Ballroom Dance. Over the years she has studied various forms of dance, in order to create her own unique style. She has put most emphasis on Latin dances. Dancing is for her an everlasting passion.

Alexistyle, Guatemala / Norway – bestätigt / confirmed All Styles Alexistyle was born in Antigua, Guatemala. He is son of Norwegian salsa profile Walter Aleman, and brother of Jazzy. Not only is he a salsa dancer and instructor, he also works as choreographer and musician. With his unique style he captivates audiences all around the world mixing LA style, NY style, Cuban style, rumba styles and folklore. After working 7 years on the salsa scene in Japan, he finally decided to move to Oslo and meet again with his family to begin a new salsa era.
Jazzy Ruiz, Guatemala/Norway – confirmed All Styles Latin of origin and dancer by nature, this artist comes from the rare line of pure street Latin flavor combine with a Bachelor Degree in Performing Arts from the National Norwegian University of Ballet.- He was the first male Latin dancer in Europe who made the fusion with Salsa/mambo and Jazz and made it popular as his own style on international events. Jazzy has pretty much training in almost any kind of dance which make him one of the most flexible and versatile artist on the international salsa scene today.- He’s been dancing for 22 year, 8 of them which he has used to make himself re-know for his style and technique world wide specially in Europe.

Susana Montero, Spain/UK – confirmed Ladies Styling Susana Montero is established as one of the premier teachers, dancers & choreographers in the UK. She has been one of the resident choreographers for the last 3 years for BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. She also is a Salsa resident choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance on BBC in 2010. Lorenzo Sanchez, Cuba – confirmed Cuban Style Lorenzo Sanchez comes from Cuba, to be precise from Ciego de Avila, a town right at the heart of Cuba. At the age of 6-9 Lorenzo visited a special misic school Abrandelgado. At the Escuela Nacional de Arte, a music conservatoire in Havanna, aged 16, Lorenzo successfully completed his education in dance and music. In 1982 he came over to Chemnitz where he still lives. In December 2003 Lorenzo opened his own dance school and since August 2008 he has hosted the annual La Palma Salsa Festival in Chemnitz. Talal & Amélie, Belgium – confirmed New York Style Talal was born in Fès, Morocco, in 1980. His interest in music appeared already from a very young age, when he played the guitar with the famous Moroccan composer Karim Zmane. When he arrived in Belgium as a student in the year 2000, he discovered salsa and very quickly became aware of his talent and motivation to invest in it. He joined one of the local dance teams in Brussels and performed with them on local Belgian, but also international events. In 2004 he established his own dance company “Salsa Sunrise” of which he is the director. Since then he works as a professional instructor, performer and choreographer. He created his own style, which is characterized by his passion, energy, and creativity. Riccardo Recanati & Marzena, Italy / Poland- bestätigt / confirmed Los Angeles Style Riccardo is the leader of the Universo Salsero, the school of all styles of salsa, that he has founded in 2006. He’s from Italy and he’s actually giving regularly classes eather in his country eather in Poland where he has founded his own dance school “Fly Dance Academy” in November 2008. Willy Vincent, Belgium – confirmed New York Style Willy Vincent　was born in　Mauritius and is　based for　several years in Belgium. In 2003 he founded Salsaga Dance Company, from which he teaches　in　International and National countries: Salsa on 1 (LA-style), Salsa on 2 (New York Style) and　Cha-cha-cha. Besides　being a teacher,　Willy organizes parties with workshops and shows, taught by National and International artists. He is also　the organizer of the Antwerp Diamond Salsa Congress in Belgium.
Olcay Fernandez , Ulm – bestätigt / confirmed New York / Los Angeles Style-Ladies Styling Olcay has discovered her passion for Salsa already in the beginning of the 1990s in Heidelberg. She started her professional dance education in Cuba, where she was trained in Casino, Cha-Cha, and Mambo. She began to teach 1993 at the legendary dance-club Zapata in Stuttgart. From 2000 to 2004 she had the chance to travel to many international Salsa Congresses where she was taught by most of the big Salsa names. Quieres bailar Salsa, Germany- bestätigt / confirmed Los Angeles Style The Quieres bailar Salsa Team was founded just at the end of 2006 to give the salsa-scene in the metropolis area of Rhine-Ruhr new impetus. Since then Daniel has been active with several dance partners providing courses and workshops in Essen, Schwelm and Wuppertal as well as in towns around those cities. He has also taught in Chemnitz, Trier and Görlitz. In 2009 Wibke and Judith also joined the team. All three are looking forward to coming to the 3. Salsa Festival to Ulm.
Giovanni Palmiero, Stuttgart – confirmed Puerto Rico Style Giovanni was born in Naples/ Italy. His love for dancing led him to several countries, among other to Puerto Rico. In 2001 he won together with his dancing partner Patricia Ruthard-Palmiero, to who he is now married, the first place at the Deutsche Salsa-Meisterschaft. In 2002 the two founded their very own dancing school in Stuttgart called “Salsa Superba”. They specialize in teaching the Puerto-Rican Style mixed with accents from the New York Style. At festivals and congresses Giovanni performed his choreography to Mambo Gozon (Tito Puente).

He was raised with salsa, merengue and bachata. Music and dance are in his blood and are also the expression of pure love of life. He has been living in Germany since 1997 and has been teaching salsa, merengue and bachata by offering workshops in Tübingen, Reutlingen, Böblingen, Herrenberg and Nogold. Helder Rodrigues – Salsa Life Trier / Portugal – bestätigt / confirmed Los Angeles Style Helder Rodrigues (Portugal), founder of the dance school “Salsa Life“ and Sandra Donarska (Poland) have been dancing and teaching salsa for many years in Trier and Luxembourg. Together they dance a dynamic-elegant salsa style and are two very dedicated and enthusiastic instructors! In 2007 they brought out their successful dance DVD “Salsa- Der Tanzkurs”.
Catherine + Gaetano, Italy / Germany – bestätigt / confirmed Puerto Rican Style / New York Style Gaetano Delfini, born close to Napels, came into touch with salsa- and rumbarythms when he was only a little child, listening to the music his puertoricenian mother used to play all day long. He learned dancing Salsa from Salsa-Pioneers like Eddie Torres, Thomas de Lille, Lazaro Martin Diaz, only to name a few. In 2003 he left Italy and moved to Germany/Bavaria where he met his today´s partner Cathérine Roth who was already infected by the passion of Salsa. Together they started building up the biggest center for caribian dances in Bavaria: “El Salsero”. Their classes (e.g. Bachatango, Bachata) are not only professional but given with a lot of heart, fun und passion.
Salsa Loca, Kempten – bestätigt / confirmed Rudi & Partners Los Angeles Style / Latin Cha Cha Rudi Walch is dance school owner of the Tanzzentrum Allgäu in Kempten. He specializes in salsa and has been teaching professionally at the biggest salsa school in Allgäu, the Tanzzentrum Allgäu. Particularly his ballroom dance groups take advantage of his experience as a former ballroom dancer. Svetlana Gangi is originally from the Ukraine and received as a child professional dancing lessons. You recognize him through his entertaining and energetic way of teaching. His dance Style is influenced by different visits on international congresses, as well as private classses with Fernando Sosa, Juan Matos and Seo Fernandez. His Shows are a mixture of elegant and acrobatic elements.
Moni & Paddy, Germany/Poland – bestätigt/confirmed Los Angeles Style Moni and Paddy, two young and talented dancers who live close to frankfurt, have been working intensively with great dancers like Yvonne Alisch (Aschaffenburg, Germany) and Jazzy Ruiz (Oslo, Norway). Their style of dancing includes elements from breakdance, hip hop, jazz and salsa. In their shows, always a history that comes out of the real life, they put these dance styles together to a grandiose mixture.
Saul, München – confirmed New York Style, Cha Cha He is teaching since 2003 in Stuttgart, but his dancing has started in 1998 when he has visited his first Salsa Congress in Paris. He is hosted in all Salsa Styles but he has a special connection to the elegant Salsa York Style. Especially his Bachata and Cha-Cha Workshops are very popular. In many Salsa Congresses around the world he had the chance to earn his knowledge for his teaching and he transmitts it with patience, calm and humor.
Felipe & Inge, München – confirmed The “Hagan Silencio”choreography, featuring high precision musicality FIRE and ICE is the combination the Russian Inge and the German Felipe bring to the dance floor with their passionate interpretation of Salsa. Since their first meeting in Munich, at a dance, of course, they have been a dance pair. As newcomers to the Munich Salsa scene they began with shows in 2008 for groups such as “The Mimo Dancers” and “MBS Dancers” The audience response was so enthusiastic that they immediately proceeded to stage performances on their own. Their performance here will be a double first: the first time they perform on the Ulm Salsa Congress and the first time they perform their new choreography “Hagan Silencio”.
Kamal, Salsa Suave, Mainz – confirmed Kamal came from the beautiful Casablanca to Germany 10 years ago. Kamal has been to numerous workshops, salsa festivals and congresses with the best dancers such as Eddie Torres, Yamulee and more. Kamal is famous for teaching several dance styles by combining them. He puts great efforts into explaining each step no matter how difficult it might be. He breaks up the combinations steep-by-step to make it easy to understand. Apart from explaining the right technique to the participants of his workshops he also conveys the passion for this dance. Kamal says: “Salsa is love of life and the most wonderful addiction in life. No matter where you are, salsa makes you feel everywhere at home”.
Janis & Ninka, Salsa Copada, Deutschland / Norwegen – confirmed New York Style Ninka (Norway) and Janis (Germany) set up “Salsa Capada” in 2009. In the Argentine slang it means “(damned) cool salsa”! They dance and teach together both New York Style “On2” as well as the LA Style “On1” with a lot of fun and humour. They have got a background in dancing jazz, ballet, hip hop, modern dance, standard and latin combined with different motion-educational concepts and a sound music-theoretical and music-practical basis. Their main emphasis is on the technique and body control. It’s their aim to provide the access to the tricks of the professionals to people who want to improve their dancing skills.
Maximiliano & Susi, Germany – confirmed Maximiliano´s enthusiasm for salsa has already begun in his native country Uruguay, with Susi a couple of Cuba visits helped creating the passion for salsa. Only recently they formed a dance couple and rock the crowd with their first joint show.
Raquel Sambarina, Brasil – confirmed Kizomba Ana Raquel Neves de Queiroz is born in Rio de Janeiro. Since her 5^th birthday she dances brazilian rythms like Samba or Axé. When she became 18 years old Ana Raquel moved to Portugal. There she found her new passion! The Kizomba, a very sensual dance that has it’s origin in Angola. For almost 13 years she danced Kizomba in several schools in Lisbon. Ana Raquel’s ambicious aim now to bring the passion or Kizomba to the hearts of the audience of Ulm.

DJ Pepe, Switzerland – confirmed DJ Pepe is a apasionado. As a musician and a singer he used to be a member of some well-known salsa bands. Since 1999 he has been heating up crowds as a DJ with explosive Latin-American sounds. No salsa fan or mambo ban or bachata fan can resist. He plays the latest hits alongside classics from the 60s and 70s. Pepe is DJ’ing at the trendiest clubs in Switzerland and is nowadays one of the most popular DJs of the salsa scene.
